Factors Affecting CAT 2022 Cutoff

CAT cutoff for each institute varies every year due to a number of factors which have been mentioned below.

  • The difficulty level of the CAT exam
  • Number of candidates who appeared for the CAT exam
  • Number of candidates who qualified for the CAT exam
  • Number of seats for a course
  • Number of applicants for the course
  • Number of candidates shortlisted for the selection round
  • Rank/reputation of the institute

How to Clear CAT Cut Off?

CAT is one of the most difficult management entrance exams in India that is taken by over 2 lakh students every year. Clearing the CAT cutoff is not easy as the competition is very tough and the number of seats available in IIMs and top B-schools is limited. However, one can easily clear the CAT cutoff with hard work and dedication. Here are a few things that one must do.

  • To prepare effectively, candidates can use test series and sectional tests to focus on their weaker areas. These tools are easy to use and help candidates analyze their performance at each step.
  • With limited time before the CAT exam, it's crucial to establish a strict schedule that covers all major areas and takes into account one's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Candidates should subdivide their time for each section over one month, ensuring that adequate attention is given to every section.
  • To prepare for the CAT exam, it's important to identify and prioritize the topics that need the most attention. Previous year's CAT question papers, dedicated question banks, and individual section weightage can help with this.
  • Candidates must attend as many video lectures as possible during this one-month preparation period. This practice ensures maximum exposure to the exam content and boosts the chances of success.
  • To monitor progress and identify areas that may require additional effort, it is important to practice tests and analyze the results of mock exams. Also, to keep up-to-date with previous exam analyses and the latest exam notifications, including any changes in exam dates, syllabus, paper pattern, and ranking scheme.

Dear Aspirant,

Writing your full name instead of your first name in the 'First Name' field on the CAT 2024 application form is unlikely to cause a significant problem unless there are spelling errors. IIMs don't allow candidates to make changes to their names once the application form is submitted. As per the CAT 2024 registration guidelines, the candidate's name should be the same as mentioned on the 10th/SSC …
