    Candidates appearing for IBPS Clerk must first go through this stage. This is a qualifying examination, as candidates clearing IBPS Prelims are then eligible to appear for Mains.

      Candidates qualifying the preliminary examination will then have to appear for IBPS Clerk Mains.

      • There are a total of 200 objective type questions.
      • The total duration of the exam is 2 hours 15 minutes (135 minutes).
      • The total marks of the exam is 200.

        IBPS Clerk Marking System

        • There will be a negative marking for each incorrect answer. 1/4 or 0.25 will be deducted for each incorrect answer. This is applicable for both Pre and Mains Exam.
        • If a question is left blank, or no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no negative marking for that question.
        • IBPS Clerk 2024 Preliminary question paper will comprise 100 Marks.
        • Each question will be of 1 mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 mark for every wrong question.
        • IBPS Clerk 2024 Main question paper will comprise 200 Marks.
        • Each question from the section General English, General/ Financial Awareness, and Aptitude sections will be carrying 1 Mark while there will be negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every wrong question.
        • Each question from the Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude section will comprise 1.30 marks and the negative marking will be of 0.30 Marks for every wrong question.
        • Candidates are required to attain the cut off marks differently for both Pre and Mains exams.
        • The merit list will be based on the Mains exam marks only.
