GATE 2025 mock test link has been made available on gate2025.iitr.ac.in. GATE 2025 registration process is over. Students can check out the GATE application form status and download their forms. Students who have successfully filled out their application form can now add a secondary GATE paper they wish to appear in through the GOAPS portal. The GATE 2025 application form correction window will likely begin after November 4, 2024. To access the application correction window, students must visit the GATE GOAPs portal at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. IITs conduct a GATE exam every year in February for admission to M.Tech courses in IITs, NITs, GFTIs, and IIITs. Apart from these premier institutes, various engineering colleges in India accept the GATE score. Public Sector Undertakings, also known as PSUs consider the GATE score for recruitment into various posts. Students must note that the GATE syllabus and the PYQs are already available. Students who are pursuing a 3rd-year B.Tech can also appear for the GATE exam as it is a good opportunity to understand the nature of the exam, pattern, and questions. GATE score comes with a three-year validity either for M.Tech admission or PSU recruitment through COAP counselling.

IIT Roorkee has added 10 more cities in the GATE exam centres 2025 list. Authorities may declare other two-paper combinations, depending on infrastructure availability and scheduling feasibility. The GATE 2025 exam will be held on February 1, 2, 15 and 16, 2025. As per the latest announcement on GATE 2025, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) will recruit utilizing the GATE 2025 results for CE, CH, EC, EE, IN, and ME test papers. BSBE Department, IIT Kanpur will admit MTech students through the GATE 2025 examination.

GATE Conducting Body

IITs and IISCs administer the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) test every yeart. It follows an 8-year rotation pattern in which each institute conducts the GATE Exam at regular intervals. The GATE office of the specific institute's zone, one of the eight zones where the GATE exam will be held, is in charge of overseeing GATE exam-related activities. Do I need to fill two GATE application forms 2025 to appear in two papers?

No, you dont need to fill two GATE registration forms to appear in two papers. You can choose two paper combination from the set and fill out the  SINGLE GATE 2025 application form.

 

What is the qualifying marks for GATE?

For General students, the expected qualifying mark is 35.5. OBC students are expected to achieve a minimum of 31.9 marks, while SC/ST/PWD students have a lower threshold of 23.6 marks.

Which branch is best in GATE?

There is no specific best branch in GATE 2024. The exam conducting body conducts GATE exam papers in various branches so that students interested in different engineering specializations can get admission to top MTech colleges. However, many students find Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) to be the best branch of GATE.

Which branch is toughest in GATE?

Electronics and communication engineering, mining, physics, and electrical are the most difficult branches in the GATE exam.

 

Is GATE conducted 2 times a year?

No, the GATE exam is conducted only one time a year.

What is the GAT-B exam?

Graduate Aptitude Test - Biotechnology (GAT-B) all-India entrance test conducted annually to offer admissions to different courses in the department of biotechnology. 

Can I participate in any of the sessions for a paper that is being held in more than one session?

NO. Each candidate will only be assigned with one of the many sessions of a specific paper.

 

How many GATE papers may I apply for?

A student may submit an application for ONE or TWO of the 30 papers listed in the GATE INFORMATION BROCHURE or on the GATE website (choosing from the list of combinations provided under Two Paper Combinations). The student is in charge of selecting the right paper. 

The following suggestions offer some principles in this regard:

  • The students are required to participate in paper(s) related to the field of their qualifying degree, up to two depending on the combinations listed in Two Paper Combinations.
  • However, the students are allowed to select any other paper in accordance with their admission strategy, keeping in mind the requirements of the institutions they desire to apply to for admission.

How can I register for GATE?

Students must complete and submit the GATE online application form in order to register for the entrance exam. For further information on how to complete and submit a GATE application, students can refer to the information above.

 

How can I pay the fee for the GATE exam?

After completing the online application form on the GATE website, the payment option will be displayed. Any of the listed payment alternatives are available to the student. The student is required to pay any additional fees, such as service fees, processing fees, or bank fees.

 

Is there a maximum age to take the GATE exam?

No, there is no upper age limit for GATE participation.

 

Who conducts the GATE exam every year?

GATE examination is conducted on a rotational basis by all the seven IITs and IISc Bangalore every year. GATE 2025 will be conducted by IIT Roorkee.

Can a GATE qualified student apply for M.Tech/M.E admission in institutes of national importance only?

No, in addition to the institutes of national importance, GATE qualified students can apply for admissions in any institute offering M.Tech/M.E/MS/Direct PhD admissions.
