JEE Main Session 1 2025 Exam Pattern

Candidates who will be appearing for the JEE Main 2025 exam must be well-versed in the JEE Main exam pattern 2025 .  The NTA will conduct the JEE Main exam in the CBT (computer-based test) mode for a duration of 3 hours. However, for papers 2A and 2B, the total time duration of the exam will be 3.5 hours. Aspirants must also have extensive knowledge about the marking scheme of the exam.

On the other hand, NTA has revised the JEE Main exam pattern for October 17, 2024. According to the latest NTA JEE main exam pattern, now section B will only have 5 questions instead of 10 for all papers (BTech/BE, BArch, BPlan). Earlier, NTA used to provide the 10 questions in Section B and the candidates had to solve any five of them. However, NTA discontinued the optional questions that were introduced in the COVID 19 era.

As per the marking scheme of the JEE Main 2025 exam, for the multiple choice questions, 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. For unanswered questions, no marks will be deducted. In case the question is dropped by NTA then full marks will be awarded irrespective of whether the question was attempted or not by the candidate. Additionally, 4 marks will be given for each right answer on the numerical value questions, and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Candidates must know that no marks will be awarded for questions that are left unanswered.
